Sadler Conveyor
Case Handling

Application - Case 1
SIC 2111 - Manufacturer - Tobacco Products

50 ft long x 60 in wide belt conveyor with lane guides
50 ft long x 60 in wide belt conveyor with lane guides

Problem: Convey cartons of cigarettes from randomly located carton packers to case packers in a separate room, then to case sealing and palletizing.

Solution: Cigarette cartons are conveyed from carton wrapper via individual conveyors to a laned trunk conveyor. Cartons are plowed off to each case packer. Discharge points can be altered by relocating guides. Filled case is conveyed through herringbone section to center cases on conveyor centerline and on to the case sealer.

Sadler Application - Case 2
SIC 3679 - Manufacturer - Electronic Components

Twin carousels - live roller conveyors with trays of circuit boards
Twin carousels - live roller conveyors with trays of circuit boards

Problem: Move trays of delicate circuit boards between work stations, keep damage to a minimum, free up floor space and improve the work flow.

Solution: Interconnect all work stations with a soft start/stop LSQ-50 accumulation carousel. 50% of floor space was saved by using small radius C Squares rather than conventional 180° curves. By color coding the trays after each operation, a visual check determined the production status and corrections could be made immediately. Damage diminished, efficiency improved. with better work flow.

Sadler Application - Case 3
SIC 5141 - Distribution Center

Order picking - conveying - accumulation - telescopic belt conveyors
Order picking - conveying - accumulation - telescopic belt conveyors

Problem: Merge case goods at a rate of 50 CPM, from 4,200 storage lanes in 2 banks of 10 tiers, 266' long x 80' wide and 26' high, and convey them simultaneously into 3 45' long trucks.

Solution: Provide each tier with 1 conveyor which merges the order picked cases into 2 groups of 5 tiers. The decline conveyor serving the top 5 tiers and the incline serving the bottom 5 tiers merge together. Cases travel to shipping area where the 2 conveyors are merged or separated depending upon which truck the cases are destined for. Cases are conveyed into trucks by telescopic belt conveyors. To maintain 50 CPM and to avoid collision of cases, timing is critical.
